Manicure With Polish — Why We Use Gel, Not Regular Polish

September 2, 2026

Services Explained

If you're looking for a manicure finished in regular, classic nail polish rather than gel, here's the direct answer: every color finish on our menu is gel polish, and it's worth explaining why rather than just noting the difference.

What actually separates the two

Regular polish air-dries in layers and is fully removable with acetone-free remover in a couple of minutes. Gel polish is a similar-looking lacquer that only hardens under UV/LED light, which is the entire reason it holds up for weeks instead of days:

Why we standardized on gel

A manicure's finish is only as good as how long it actually lasts, and regular polish chips well before most people are ready to redo it — which is the main complaint it gets. Gel closes that gap at the cost of a small trade-off: you're committed to the color until your next visit or a proper removal, rather than able to swap it same-day with your own bottle at home.

If you specifically want a no-color option instead

That's not a polish preference, it's a different service — our No-Polish Manicure gives you the full shaping and cuticle work with nothing on top, which is the right call if you plan to apply your own polish afterward or just don't want color that day.

Every gel finish is backed by the same 2-week guarantee as the rest of our menu.
