Pedicure Options at AK.LUX.NAILS — Gel-Overlay vs. No-Polish

September 1, 2026Updated October 5, 2026

Services Explained

Our pedicure menu is deliberately short — two real options, not a long list of near-duplicates. Here's the actual difference.

Regular Pedicure Gel-Overlay (Dry)

A full dry pedicure (shaping, cuticle work, callus care, no water soak) finished with a gel-polish overlay for a glossy, chip-resistant color that holds up for weeks, the same gel-only approach as every manicure on our menu (see why we don't use acrylic, same reasoning applies here). "Dry" means there is no foot bath at any point: skin and cuticles are prepared dry, which keeps the cuticle work precise and the result neat for longer. This is what most people mean when they search for a Russian pedicure in San Diego.

Pedicure (No Polish)

The same full dry treatment (shaping, cuticle and callus care, no water soak) with nothing on top. This is the one to book if you want the hygiene and precision of a real pedicure without committing to a color, or if you're planning to apply your own polish afterward.
